Every donation, not matter how small, is very much appreciated, and does make a difference.

Our beautiful, historic church lives within very tight financial margins every year.

· Typical expenditure is approximately £45,000 per year, more than £123 per day

· Some of this goes through the Diocese to cover the cost of clergy and diocesan support

· The rest pays for the running of the church – insurance, utility bills, regular maintenance of items such as the roof alarm, and fire and electrical inspections.

· Income varies and normally runs at just under our annual expenditure, but there is always a shortfall

· For most of our income we rely on donations, offerings in the collection plate, regular Planned Giving, one-off donations, and fundraising

· A small proportion (around 10%) is from fees for weddings and funerals which is obviously very variable

There are several ways in which you can help:

1. Make a one-off donation

Via text:

Just text GREATGADDESDEN plus the amount you wish to donate to 70085, for example text “GREATGADDESDEN 10” to donate £10.00. Texts will cost the amount donated plus one standard rate message.

By cheque:

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Great Gaddesden PCC ’ and sent to our Treasurer:

2. Make regular donations through Planned Giving 

Please contact the Treasurer, James Milne treasurer@greatgaddesdenchurch.com or at the address above for the PCC’s bank details in order to set up a standing order.

On any donation or contribution, and if you are a UK taxpayer, you can help the Church claim Gift Aid on top of your contribution by completing a Gift Aid declaration, and returning it to our Treasurer. The Gift Aid declaration form can be downloaded here : Gift Aid Declaration
